World famous Kirra Point offers waves for beginners through to champion surfers.
Home of Queensland’s first surf club, this region has provided a training area for many surfing greats. These beaches are renowned for having long, right-hand surf breaks.
Check out the surf through beach cameras at North Kirra and Kirra. Surfing is the local obsession - with three surf life saving clubs, little ‘nipper’ events and major surf competitions.
Head for dive sites at Kirra and Cook Islands to the south. The Ocean way offers walking and viewing platforms which are wheelchair accessible.
